Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not at launch, and Rockstar has not announced a PC version at all. Here is what has actually been reported, and how much weight it deserves.
GTA 6 is not launching on PC. Rockstar has announced only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
On October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported — citing four sources familiar with Rockstar's plans — that a PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar did not respond to a request for comment, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has made any public statement about a PC release. Treat Q1 2027 as a credible report, not a date you can plan around.
Confirmed versus reported
The distinction matters here more than almost anywhere else on this site.
| Claim | Source | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Launch platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | Rockstar Games, official GTA VI page | Confirmed |
| No PC version announced | Absence of any Rockstar statement | Confirmed |
| PC version planned for Q1 2027 | GamesBeat, October 13, 2026 — four unnamed sources | Reported |
| Timing driven by PS5 emulation pressure | Community speculation | Unconfirmed |
| System requirements | None published | Unconfirmed |
Why a four-month gap would be unusual
If the GamesBeat report holds, the PC version would arrive roughly four months after the November 19, 2026 console launch. That would be dramatically faster than Rockstar's own precedent.
GTA 5 is the comparison everyone reaches for. Its PC port was not even announced until the year after the PS3 and Xbox 360 release, and shipped around 19 months later. Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern — console first, PC about a year on.
The community theory is that PS5 emulation progress has compressed Rockstar's window: better to sell a PC version than to watch an emulated one circulate. That reasoning is plausible, but it is speculation and Rockstar has said nothing to support it.
What a PC player should actually do
There is no PC pre-order, no store page, and no system requirements list. Nothing to buy and nothing to prepare for. Earlier reports pointing at an early-2026 PC launch did not pan out, which is a useful reminder of how much weight to put on unofficial windows.
If you want to play on November 19, a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is the only route. See the release date page for the full platform breakdown, or editions and pricing if you are deciding how to buy.
